Web Based Training is available in a variety ways.
July 27, 2003 -Greer South Carolina Based Distributor SeT -NeT announces a new web -site designed to offer the Home Automation, Home Security and Home Theater markets a level of training, support and services not previously available from any other source.
Tony Stewart, President of S.E.T Inc. the parent company of SeT -NeT describes the services available on this web -site as "truly pioneering". "Installers and Homeowners are often too busy to attend classroom training. By teaming with Automation University who has trained thousands of installers in the classrooms across America, we have created an environment where students can take a wide variety of classes without ever leaving their home or office, and several receive full factory credit".
To date, classes provided by manufacturers seldom included any actual "Hands On". Most factory training featured a slide show and a few handouts. With this thought in mind, SeT -NeT focused on designing a more interactive and easier to access series of classes. The web adds a level of interactivity for the student that is otherwise not possible when it is used to link to additional information like schematics, specifications, design information and product pictures. Unlike a classroom experience that must be remembered in its entirety, Web students can return to the web class months later for follow up and additional research.
Web Training features Steaming Audio and Video of the Instructors and not just slides (There is even a series of classes for even the slowest dial up connection).
There are several ways a student can attend web classes.
· Free Short Seminars and Installer Roundtable discussions run 24/7 and include a wide variety of topics.
· Free Factory authorized classes from the top manufactures in the industry.
· Factory Authorized classes that include factory certification and full dealer status for graduates.
· Many of these classes qualify for CEU credits.
Stewart says "Of course there will always be classroom training available as well as web based, but we are reserving these classes for the more sophisticated sessions that require actual hands on and include the more advanced topics'.
