ELAN™ Systems (UK) Celebrates Its First CEDIA Show By Doubling Its Number of Dealers in Six Months

ELAN's booth at the recent CEDIA EXPO 2003 in the Brighton Conference Centre exhibited the extensive product range of US-based ELAN Home Systems.

BRIGHTON, England -Doubling its number of dealers in the last six months, ELAN™ Systems (UK)'s first trade show was a success, the company announced today. ELAN's booth at the recent CEDIA EXPO 2003 in the Brighton Conference Centre exhibited the extensive product range of US -based ELAN Home Systems. Reliable technology, realistic pricing, and full ELAN factory technical support and training attracted a number of new dealer commitments.

"ELAN Systems (UK) incorporated in autumn 2002," said Jonathan Smith, a director of the company. "Our goal was to establish and support a comprehensive network of ELAN installers throughout the UK and Eire. With the overwhelming interest we received at CEDIA UK, we're well on our way to achieving that goal. The US group both understands and supports our region, so we believe it will become ELAN's most important export market."

While there is intense competition in the UK's rapidly growing custom installation industry, the more than 3,000 conference attendees were attracted to ELAN's unique one -stop -shop product line -a boast which few others in the industry can make. The comprehensive line includes everything from structured wiring to home control systems. The products have a reputation for reliability in the USA and are backed by technical support and training from ELAN's Lexington, Kentucky headquarters.

In addition, ELAN's prices are highly competitive, thanks to an appropriate export pricing policy. Smith said full credit for this goes to ELAN's International Sales Department in Lexington. In fact, International Sales Director Michael Murray represented the American company for the full show.

"CEDIA UK was an exciting next step for ELAN and our UK partners," Murray said. "We are deeply committed to the success of our dealers in the UK and Eire and want them to have the same level of technical support and extensive training that our American dealers have enjoyed for over a decade. Trade shows like the CEDIA UK EXPO allow us to demonstrate our commitment and gain valuable insight and feedback."

Smith said CEDIA EXPO has grown so much over the past three years that it will be housed at the larger ICC Birmingham next year. Meanwhile, ELAN Systems (UK) is rapidly growing, doubling its dealers in the past six months.

"The UK custom install industry will continue to grow rapidly in the next 12 months," he said. "The number of new consumer publications concerned with smart homes anticipates this growth. ELAN is already a major success in the US, and industry observers can detect no conditions specific to the UK which will prevent this success being repeated. We are poised to capitalize on that success for our dealers."
