Home Networking Module Introduced
by OnQ Technologies Simplifies Home Computing

Harrisburg, PA (May 1, 1999)—OnQ Technologies, Inc., the world leader in home wiring systems, has introduced a new 5-port Network Interface Module for its OnQ Home Wiring System. The new module provides the wiring cross connect between the OnQ Network Hub and the Category 5 wiring running to outlets in the home. It also provides a termination point for high-speed data/voice services such as ISDN or DSL.

"Multi-computer households and the Internet are two of the hottest trends in the home electronics," said Todd Regar, director of product marketing for OnQ Technologies. "In-home networks allow family members to share files, resources such as printers or scanners, and access to high-speed Internet services. The new interface module helps lower the cost of building a home network," added Regar.

The new modules use a space-saving half-width design for convenient, snap-in installation in an OnQ enclosure. The RJ-45 jacks use a 110-style punchdown block for fast termination of Category 5 cable. The module also features large, multiple cable accessways that provides enhanced wire management and a neat, maintainable installation.

OnQ Technologies, Inc., a privately held corporation formed by the management and employees of the former AMP Building Systems Division, is the world’s leading supplier of home structured wiring systems.

The OnQ Home Wiring System and Home Management System are sold and installed through the nationwide network of OnQ dealers and distributors. For more information, call (800) 321-2343 or visit the OnQ Technologies website at http://www.onqtech.com.
