OnQ Technologies Enhances System Telecom Modules

Harrisburg, PA (May 1, 1999) — OnQ Technologies, Inc., the world leader in home wiring systems, has upgraded its 1x6 Basic Telecom Modules and introduced a 6-Port Telecom Expansion Module. To meet installer needs, the new compact module supports up to 6 telephone outlets, each with up to 4 incoming telephone lines. At the same time, the 6-port Expansion Module supports growing needs of homeowners. The modules easily snap into the modular OnQ system enclosure to provide distribution of telecommunication service throughout the home.

To make installation and troubleshooting easy, the 1x6 Telecom module features a dual-function integrated test/bridge jack and line isolation DIP switch to allow each cable pair to be isolated and tested separately. In addition, the module also includes an integrated security port for interface to most security systems.

"We're bringing the same reliability and sophistication to homes that businesses have had for years," said Bill Savage, Technical Support Manager for OnQ Technologies. "And the new test capabilities make it easy for installers to provide quick, hassle-free installations and easily troubleshoot potential problems, which is beneficial to installers and homeowners alike."

The 6-Port Telecom Expansion Module allows economical expansion to support up to 6 additional phone outlets, each with up to four lines. Additional expansion modules can be added effortlessly to support as many phone outlets as needed. Optional surge suppression capabilities are also available to protect the homeowner’s equipment from potentially catastrophic voltage surges on the telephone network.

OnQ Technologies, Inc., a privately held corporation formed by the management and employees of the former AMP Building Systems Division, is the world’s leading supplier of home structured wiring systems.

The OnQ Home Wiring System and Home Management System are sold and installed through the nationwide network of OnQ dealers and distributors. For more information, call (800) 321-2343 or visit the OnQ Technologies website at http://www.onqtech.com.
