NAPCO'S EXPANDS ITS LINE OF COMMERCIAL FIRE PRODUCTS

NAPCO Security Group announces the second product in its new line of commercial fire products -- FIREWOLF* FW-2 Two-Wire Advanced Photoelectric Smoke Detector. Both the new FW-2 and the FW-4 Four-Wire Detectors are attractive, low profile baseless units for maximum consumer appeal. In fire tests, they have been proven to provide superior detection of virtually all types of fires including paper, wood, gasoline, polystyrene, and smoldering.

Similar to the 4-wire model, the cost-efficient FW-2's patented chamber and photo diode is designed to enable laser-like detection, never before available from a photoelectric detector. This design enables precision detection of even minute particles, such as those produced by clean-burning fires such as alcohol. The FIREWOLF FW-2 also provides superior insect screening and has been 100% burn-in tested for dependability. Beyond the obvious wire and supervision module savings, each 2-wire compatible control panel can support more FW-2 detectors.

To learn more about the opportunity to build your commercial fire business with these innovative, quality FIREWOLF products, call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-645-9445. Also, visit NAPCO's web site at www.napcosecurity.com.

NAPCO'S MARKETING VP REPORTS TO CSAA ON ITS OWN CONSUMER RESEARCH FINDINGS

When the members of the Central Station Alarm Association gathered in Washington, DC for their 1999 Mid-Year Meeting, Jorge Hevia, NAPCO Security Systems' Corporate Vice President, Sales & Marketing, addressed them on Monday, April 26th. Mr. Hevia's topic, "How Consumers Feel about Security," dealt with the concerns and feelings of homeowners about their security systems, their purchasing decision sequence and the implications for alarm dealers and central station operators.

Mr. Hevia, a consumer goods marketer for more than a decade, discussed the results of NAPCO's recent blind focus groups conducted by Parks Associates, a leading research firm. The groups were comprised of primary purchase decision-makers in households with with purchases made less than one year ago or those with one-to-three years' system experience. Discussions included motivations behind the installation of their system, how installation companies were chosen, the influence of various advertising media, the extent of use of the system and its features, satisfaction of expectations, other desired system functions or services now and in the future.

Mr. Hevia presented many conclusions to the receptive audience including: a need for consumer education to enhance sales, service and referrals; the value of grassroots marketing vs. national campaigns; and the small role "price" truly plays in a motivated consumer's purchasing decision process. He also launched the concept of increasing monitoring rates commensurate with system service enhancements and more.

For information on NAPCO's innovative security products produced in direct response to ongoing consumer research, call Customer Service at 1-800-645-9445, Ext. 64. Also, visit NAPCO's web site at www.napcosecurity.com.
