ISC EXPO/NEW YORK ’99 DELIVERS THE CUTTING EDGE IN SECURITY TECHNOLOGY TO NEW YORK CITY

Norwalk, CT., June 30, 1999 -- Join thousands of security industry professionals as they head to New York City for the International Security Conference and Exposition (ISC EXPO/ New York) at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York from August 30 through September 2, 1999, bringing more than 500 exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies in security equipment and services.

ISC EXPO/ New York is the foremost event serving the $38 billion security market, attracting an audience of security professionals who are eager to touch and test out the latest products, learn about the most advanced technologies and find new ways to make their companies more competitive and more profitable. The Pavilions

Access Control/ Biometrics Pavilion spotlights new technology solutions for reliable identification. The pavilion features identification methods from electronic keys and personal identification numbers to unique physiological or behavioral characteristics such as fingerprints, handwriting, voice verification, infrared imaging or retinal scans to positively identify an individual. Companies include Genesis Cable Systems, Mas-Hamilton Group, Security Lock, Robotec Inc., Eltron, Pivot, Idesco, Atlantek, Essi and Code Access.

CCTV Pavilion, the largest growing vertical segment in the security industry, focuses on the latest technologies in closed circuit television that help cut down on false alarms, provide information to authorities and give companies the ability to ‘look in’ on inventory. The pavilion features new products such as cameras, monitors, and time lapse recorders. Participating companies include Ir-Tec International, Samsung Opto-Electronics, Security Dealer Magazine, Fiber Options, Kodo Corporation, Elmo Manufacturing Corp. and Scope-Care.

Security Hardware Pavilion highlights quality tools and equipment from the industry’s leading vendors, such door jams, locks and hardware. Exhibitors include Detex Corp., Uplink Security, Vanguard Security, Dynalock, Saflock, Key Systems, B & B Battery and Hanchett Entry Systems.

Home Systems Pavilion features the industry’s most advanced home automation systems and software used to control electronic products and systems in the home. Home automation is becoming increasingly important to security dealers and installers as they look to expand and grow their business. Participating companies include Echostar Communications, Xantech, M & S Systems, Strategic Vista Corporation, Home Systems Installer Magazine, Alarmsoft and Amcest Corporation.

Lectures and workshops

ISC EXPO produces a comprehensive world class conference program offering an array of in-depth workshops and seminars, covering state-of-the-art security applications, advanced technologies and industry issues - led by respected industry experts.

This Fall’s ISC EXPO/ New York professional conference program features 50 seminars, workshops and panel discussions, more than 75% of them new at ISC EXPO/ New York.

The renowned ISC EXPO conference program offers educational tracks to meet nearly any job. A sampling of courses include: Closed Circuit Television Legal Issues, Biometrics for Physical Security, Hospital Security, Small Dish Installation, Internet-based Remote Monitoring, Selling Audio Systems Through Builders, Finding People to Sell and Selling to the People you Find, and Hybrid Technologies in the Commercial Fire Retrofit Market. All tracks have been developed in conjunction with the ISC EXPO Conference Advisory Board to help create an outstanding conference program.

One special feature of ISC EXPO/ New York is Security Tour of the World Trade Center, which takes participants behind the scenes to view the $50 million security program for the 12 million square ft. complex. This national model for what "can be done" to provide both in-depth security and an attractive tenant environment is one of the most comprehensive commercial sector security upgrade programs ever undertaken in the United States.

Opportunities in the Jewelry Security Market provides practical tips on how to identify and sell security products and services to jewelers, which is an untapped niche market for many vendors of security products and services. Ron Spiller, Executive Director of SIA will serve as moderator for a panel of experts from Jewelry Security Alliance, Movado Group, DGA Security Systems and Underwriters Laboratories.

Biometrics Technology: The New Growth Market in the Security Industry is an overview of biometric identification technology and how it’s used in the marketplace. Biometrics has been declared as one of the top 10 emerging technologies by the Gartner Group.

Designing High-Tech Hospital Security talks about the many types of systems, which comprise today’s sophisticated hospital environment, and how to get the most complete design for the least budget.

ISC EXPO classes, seminars and workshops are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) where applicable, NTS (National Training School), ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security), as well as many state licensing boards. In addition, you can earn credit hours toward ISC EXPO Security Professional Certification.

In order to receive CEUs, conferees must obtain a signed CEU Request Form from the instructor and mail it directly to the organization from which they wish to receive credit. ISC EXPO cannot issue CEUs. Addresses for the above associations can be found in the conference binder handed out to conferees when they register.

Show Highlights

Sure to be one of many show stoppers is ADT’s real stock car racing at the ADT booth # 1907. Attendees will be able to bump, spin-out or crash their favorite car on a banked oval speedway at scaled speeds of up to 200 mph.

Another show highlight is the SIA Millennium Gala, which will honor two individuals for their efforts on behalf of the security industry. The cabaret style dinner will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at 7:00 p.m. at Hudson Theatre- Millennium Broadway Hotel. The event will bestow the prestigious Lippert Award to a SIA member and the Gold Circle Award- given to non-SIA member for their contribution to the security industry. In addition, SIA members Only breakfast, annual Meeting and election of new Board of Directors will be held in Rear aisle 1300 on ISC EXPO show floor on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m.- 9:30 a.m.

Attendees can mingle over champagne and an assortment of hors d’oevres with the staff of SIA during The New Product Showcase Awards Ceremony. The event is open to all and will take place on the show floor on Tuesday, August 31 at 4:00 p.m. at the SIA booth #1130.

Jacob K. Javits Convention Center

The Jacob Javits Center is a complete trade and convention facility stretching five blocks from 34th to 39th street, fronting on the Hudson River, along Manhattan’s West side. The Center holds 814,400 square feet of exhibit space in eleven separate halls. Javits was designed by the firm of world-class architect I.M. Pei, whose experts sheathed a steel "space frame" in more than 16,000 window panes of glass.
