Convenience for the Home
by Mark O'Keefe, Street Smart Security

"When looking for an all-in-one wireless system, ensure that the system you choose has some type of code encryption or code hopping technology. Code encryption and code hopping technology eliminate the thief's ability to use a Code Grabber. "

The main reason to merge home automation and home security is to give home security more convenience. Imagine if you could have only one remote on your keychain that would work many different devices.

A Remote that would allow you to arm and disarm the security system without having to enter the code on the keypad. Not only is this easier, but it also eliminates false alarms associated with entering the wrong code. It also has the ability to panic the security system from this remote control. This adds real security and peace of mind for the user.

Most people currently use a remote garage door opener. Typically it is a large, non-secure unit capable of opening the garage door only. Think of the advantages of a keychain remote that will pack all of these features into a single piece of equipment. When looking for an all-in-one wireless system, ensure that the system you choose has some type of code encryption or code hopping technology. Code encryption and code hopping technology eliminate the thief's ability to use a Code Grabber.

What is a Code Grabber? Code grabbers are small, digital-recording devices, used to duplicate and playback RF signals. Typical uses include defeating remote-based vehicle and home security systems and opening electric garage doors to gain access to your home. Not long ago, the only way to defeat such devices was to forego the convenience of wireless remotes altogether. Not anymore.

Today, many manufacturers offer products with this "anti-code grabbing" technology. Street Smart Security's Code Encryptor for home security and garage interface, is an all in one solution. This product is a good example of a unit designed for convenience, but high-tech security as well. Every time the user presses a button on the remote control, the Code Encryptor delivers a new, non-repeating code. And with billions of possible codes, Code grabbers and Code Scanners are useless. Protecting your home with technology like this will virtually eliminate the threat of high-tech burglary tools while providing unparalleled convenience. This three channel receiver and remote system give you the ability to turn you home alarm on/off, open close your garage door and a button for panic or x-10 lighting.

The nineties are the decade of ease and convenience and the remote control is key to it.
