The IWG Cellar Cerveau™ family of products offers the first automated system for complete management of your wine cellar regardless of its size. The CELLAR CERVEAU™ product line features both single-user, single-site and multi-user, multi-site options for wine collections ranging in size from 100 bottles to 100,000 or more. The multi-user systems provide network connectivity via Fast Ethernet with Gigabit Ethernet optional. Multi-site options can be configured to provide secure connectivity between locations, thereby allowing owners to maintain cellars at more than one location. Secure remote connectivity is also provided so that users can view their systems from any location with Internet connectivity

Management of your wine collection can now be done easily and accurately with this feature-rich, user-friendly system. The CELLAR CERVEAU™ system ships with a database pre-configured with a wide range of listings of wineries, wine types, grape varieties, regions, appellations, and other pertinent data. These data are available to the user via the inventory search and data entry screens as drop-down lists loaded directly from the database to the user interface. All new entries not previously in the database are added for subsequent presentation. This feature greatly reduces the level of effort required for data entry and searches, and it also greatly reduces the likelihood of data input errors. A Notes field is associated with each entry in the database allowing for addition of tasting/review notes and other user information. The Notes component of the database interacts directly with the Inventory Management components in the system to provide a broad range of leading edge, dynamic inventory management functionality.

CELLAR CERVEAU™ provides automatic inventory logging and tracking of wines using INVICTUS WINE GROUP’s RFID-based Cellar Automation Solution™. Labels [2-inch by 2-inch] containing embedded Radio Frequency Identification devices are added to the bottles. An easy to use interface allows the user to enter the tracking information that is written to the embedded RFID tag. Once the data has been written to the tag, the bottle is placed in the rack. The new item is detected by the system and automatically added to the inventory database, along with the bin location of the bottle. When a bottle is removed from the rack, the database is updated to indicate that the item has been removed from stock. To further demonstrate the flexibility of the system, if several bottles are removed and subsequently one or more of those are returned to the rack, the system automatically replaces those items into inventory, including the location of the bottle [which may be different from the original bin location].

An additional feature of the RFID-based Cellar Automation Solution™ provides a non-line of sight unauthorized removal alarm capability. This feature causes an alarm to be triggered if an attempt is made to remove a tagged item from the cellar without it first being cleared through CELLAR CERVEAU™. Authorization is provided by way of an RFID-based key chain device [known as the CAP device] that is encoded by the user. Permission to remove items from the cellar occurs when the system detects and verifies the appropriate authorization code from the CAP device.

The CELLAR CERVEAU™ system provides comprehensive inventory management features, allowing you to easily and accurately track all aspects of your collection. The design of the system is based on state-of-the-art inventory management systems. The following are selected examples of inventory management features of the system:

• Inventory Stratification. Method used to categorize inventory into groups based upon certain activity characteristics. Examples include:
  • By number of pulls over a specified time period
  • By bracketed item cost
  • By quantity consumed
  • By average inventory investment
• Forecast Consumption. This is of particular interest to commercial and larger residential users. Forecast consumption describes the method that the inventory management software uses to reduce forecasted demand by the actual demand that occurs during the forecast period.
• Available Inventory. Status of inventory as it relates to availability for consumption.
• Capacity Requirements Planning [CRP]. The process for determining the amount of inventory required for meeting specific demands [such as peaks created by special events and holidays].
• Distribution Requirements Planning {DRP]. This is the process for determining inventory requirements in situations where multiple locations may be serviced from a central cellar.
• Item Profile. These are data that describe the characteristics of a given inventory item. Included are: bottle size, vintage, barcode number, wine category, wine type, grape variety, brand, cuvee, vineyard, region, appellation, winery, among others. The system also performs tracking of transactional information such as purchase price, date purchased, date last purchased, date cellared, date last pulled, and bin location. For multiple entries of given items, it is necessary to enter the information only once, unless specifics, such as purchase price, have changed. The user can update any data item at any time.
• Lead-Time. The amount of time required for an item to be available from the time it is ordered. This parameter is especially useful in planning special events. It may also be used to manage ordering of wines against advanced release notices from producers.
