REVOLUTIONARY SPEECH AWARE TECHNOLOGY WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU USE YOUR COMPUTER FROM THIS DAY FORTH!!!
SoHoTALK Inc. Announces SAY...DO Breakthrough application understands what you say and translates it into ACTION!! Las Vegas NV November 16, 1998--SoHoTALK, Inc. Today announced The SAY...DO Assistant. The SAY...DO Assistant uses BRAND NEW developments in natural language modeling and user interface to produce the VERY FIRST application that lets YOU tell your computer what to do, the result being an action which will make your life much easier. The SAY...DO Assistant establishes a new product category. It takes advantages of the capabilities provided by speech recognition software--and then builds on top of these capabilities by COMPLETELY INTEGRATING speech into its operation.
The SAY...DO Assistant uses and stresses a HANDS-FREE, EYES-FREE operating mode that lets you use a headset microphone or telephone switching handset to talk to your computer using a voice processing engine. The SAY...DO Assistant sits on top of the voice engine (such as Dragon Systems' Naturally Speaking) which translates your speech. The output from the voice engine is then translated into commands which are then executed on the SAY...DO Assistant's productivity modules.
Richard Grant continues, "Think about it this way--We've programmed a virtual personal assistant called MARNIE. You say "MARNIE, what's happening at 2 o'clock? "and-the computer tells you 'You have a call with Enrique about the exterior proposal.' The SAY...DO Assistant processes your requests and reads the results. NO OTHER application available today provides this level of natural language control over these types of everyday activities"
The SAY...DO Assistant provides a natural language interface--the
ability to speak and listen to the computer as if it were another person. Using this
capacity, SAY...DO Assistant provides you the ability to manage:
· PROJECT PLANNING
· CONTACT MANAGEMENT
· APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING
· FAXING
· E-MAILING
· TIME REMINDERS
· FREE TIME MANAGEMENT
· TELEPHONE CONTROL
The SAY...DO Assistant is even designed to let you build a database of local restaurants that accept fax orders. You could say "MARNIE, I'm hungry, please order me the special from Emilos." And the speech application would generate a fax and send it to the pizza place. Additional modules will be able to send out requests for hotel and airline reservations--just like a real assistant. The SAY...DO Assistant will also include a module called 'COOLER CONVERSATIONS' which will carry on a conversation with you about your day-to-day concerns. You can talk to about challenges that you are having with a client or a project and it will work to draw out your thinking and hopefully provide some insight. Or you can use it to just "chew the fat" about sports, news, or your spouse for example.
The SAY...DO Assistant's telephone module also implements some BREAKTHROUGH technology that will allow users with an ISDN line to turn their phone into a voice driven PBX. The integrated telephony technology will let you switch among multiple ISDN calls using voice commands, as well as using the ISDN's caller ID feature to tell you is calling. DISABILITIES have been recognized by the makers of SAY...DO. This software gives vision-impaired people the ability to be more productive and thus freeing them from having to search for the computer system controls or to be able to find the mouse and then not be able to see the screen. The SAY...DO Assistant will organize their lives. Simply tell the SAY...DO Assistant what to do and it gets done. Additionally, SAT...DO Assistant's voice feedback tells you when a task has been completed so once again there's no real reason to see the screen. In addition, people with limitations on moving their arms can also use The SAY...DO Assistant to augment their capabilities and enhance their productive potential.
There is a growing number of people suffering from RPI (repetitive stress injuries) resulting from using the keyboard and mouse as the primary mechanism for getting information to and from the computer. The SAY...DO Assistant is built from the ground up to provide a hands-free, eyes-free way to process information. Successfully deployed, this innovation will save untold amounts of money in productivity lost to RSI.
The SAY...DO Assistant is being made available in both English and Spanish versions. SoHoTalk's SAY...DO Assistant is scheduled to ship in first quarter 1999.
