1999 Home Theater Now Conference Update

New York -- The 1999 Home Theater Now Conference and Exposition (April 27-29, 1999, New York Hilton & Towers) will be presenting important conference sessions designed to address the concerns of the industry and consumers. The Conference will cover a broad range of technical, business and industry topics as well as training sessions, certification exams and technical tours. The Exposition will include live product demonstrations by manufacturers of home theater products.

Scheduled guest speakers to date include: Joel Brinkley, Pulitzer Prize-winning author - and technology columnist for the New York Times, Stereophile Magazine and Video Magazine. Mr Brinkley will deliver the keynote address at the Opening Session on April 27, 1999, which will kick-off the first-ever Home Theater Now - Conference & Exposition; Matthew York, Editor and Publisher of SmartTV Magazine; Lynn Claudy, Senior Vice President of Science and Technology, National Association of Broadcasters; Krystol Cameron, CEO, Simply TV; Dr. Peter D'Antonio, President & CEO, RPG Diffusor Systems, Inc..

Certification Exams conducted by the Electronics Technicians Association - Satellite Dealers Association (ETA-SDA) will include "Registered Small Dish Installer", "Certified Satellite Installer", "Customer Service Specialist", and "Certified Electronics Technician".

Other highlights include:

•The Converging Worlds Pavilion - a designated area at the Exposition showcasing companies displaying products and services related to the convergence of computer and television.

•Technical tour to Colossalvision - a full service HDTV creative, production and post-production facility.

•1999 Home Theater Now DVD Awards - people's choice-type awards will be presented to companies responsible for the transfer of movies to DVD. Awards will be presented for "DVD of the Year", "Best Video Quality", "Best Audio Quality", "Best Menu Design", and "Interactive Award". Votes are being cast from the Home Theater Now website.
