Advanced Quonset Technology, Inc.
November 25, 1998

Advanced Quonset Technology is announcing:
* A price reduction on its Home Control Assistant (HCA) software to  $89.00

* Availability of a downloadable evaluation copy of HCA and  its User Guide. This evaluation copy is a completely functional  version of HCA except it is time limited to 14 days of use.

* A migration tool for converting ActiveHome data files into  Home Control Assistant format. This new tool makes upgrading  from ActiveHome almost painless.

Staring immediately the price of the Home Control Assistant is reduced to $89.00. This is the software about which the Home Automator magazine wrote:

The personal computer with graphical user interface has brought high-powered computing to the masses. Word processors and spreadsheets are no longer esoteric applications used by a few specialists, but are now commonly found in grade-school classrooms. Until recently, though, the fourth-generation graphical sophistication of a mass-market software release had yet to make it to the home automation market. For that select group of Marrick product and ActiveHome owners who have hit the wall, the wait for such a product has, at long last, ended. Moreover, the bar has also been raised for everyone writing programs for the CM11A two-way X-10 interface.

Each registered user of the Home Control Assistant can download from the Advanced Quonset Technology website HCA version 1.0b. This upgrade includes complete support for the new 2-way modules like the LM14A, and the preset-dim capabilities of the LM14 and the Leviton 6381 wall switch.

Available for free download and also as part of the evaluation download is a new program Migrate.EXE which converts ActiveHome design files into an HCA design file. All device and timer settings are translated as well as any macros.

In this way all devices, schedules and macros need not be manually re-entered using the HCA user interface.
