QUESTION 1: (To give readers an idea of the scope of work involved.) What do you recommend as a standard cabling package for a modern home? Please list the components of the system and their uses. (i.e. Distribution Panel, Number of cables and types, outlets etc.)

ANSWER 1: The modern home package would need at least 2 rg-6 cables and at least two pair of category 5 cables for data, phone, and internet. There are also possible needs for security and energy management applications that can be run over the twisted pair. There should be at least two(2) sets of full outlets in all bedrooms, and the living areas.

QUESTION 2: (To educate readers on what can be expected) What systems would connect and interact via the cabling now and in the future?

ANSWER 2: Unanswered

QUESTION 3: (To establish a baseline ballpark cost) Do you have rule of thumb installed costs for this standard (i.e. $/sq ft. or $/room etc.)? How much more does it cost for retrofit?

ANSWER 3: Most home wiring is a new construction priority. Retrofit is very expensive and not cost effective at this point.

QUESTION 4: How futureproof is an installation as described here? What could be added to the system (in order of priority) to extend it's life and scope?

ANSWER 4: The cable we currently produce has all the equipment to future proof the home. With coax, utp and fiber it can handle any applications we are aware of.

QUESTION 5: Can I just get the electrician to install your cabling and components? If not why not and who do I call?

ANSWER 5: The installation should be completed by a certified installer such as an Audio/video house or call the Seimon company to get a list of people.

QUESTION 6: What makes your system unique in the marketplace?

ANSWER 6: Our cable is unique because it has all the cables under one jacket. This jacket is riser rated to be installed in commercial and residential applications. Our cable has a one year guarantee that other products do not offer.
