New TABS(r) MS Visual Basic 5 API Speeds
Programming For Custom Control, Voice Activation, Touchscreens
& More
(Tucson, Ariz.) - A new Microsoft Visual Basic(r) 5.0
Applications Programmer's Interface (API) for TABS, the PC-based
Totally Automated Building System, makes it easier for
dealer/installers to add value to TABS by interfacing with
Windows 95(r) and creating custom controls for their clients.
TABS is the most powerful, flexible and affordable automation system available. It merges PC control of all building systems with fully customizable software. TABS gives the user options to control climate, security, lighting, appliances, irrigation, pools and other water features at the press of a button. The system also features complete telephone and room-to-room communications, voice mail, schedules and reminders plus function displays on TV.
The user controls TABS by pressing buttons on an attractive, wall-mounted TABS Communicator, a remote control or any touch-tone phone. TABS responds to each command in a pleasant voice, using more than 5,000 words.
"The TABS API allows the dealer to custom program TABS using a mass market programming language. Dealers can take advantage of the Visual Basic graphical user interface to make custom visual representations of home functions," said C. John "Jack" Schoof, NetMedia founder and CEO. "This interface makes it easier to standardize and carry out integration with TABS of such functions as custom voice activation, voice activated PBX functions, serial touch screen interface, multi-zone proportional damper control, and much more."
The TABS Visual Basic API is available now on all new TABS software CDs. To take advantage of the power and flexibility of the TABS API, it must run with TABS software version 4.10. Authorized dealers can phone NetMedia at 1-888-RUN-TABS for a free update.
