Applied Future Technologies To Show
Updated HomeVoice
TM Software at CEDIA EXPO ‘97

Arvada, CO, August 29, 1997 --- Applied Future Technologies, Inc. (AFT) will be showing their HomeVoiceTM Release 1.2 software product at the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) EXPO ’97 which will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, September 3-7, 1997.

"The CEDIA EXPO ’97 gives us an opportunity to display the update to our HomeVoiceTM software as well as demonstrate the overall open-air voice commanding capability of HomeVoiceTM. " said Michael Elder, AFT Vice President. "The HomeVoiceTM software update is a minor release providing some new capabilities as well as fixing some software bugs. The new capabilities include the ability to use .wav files (recorded sound bites) as the optional command feedback in addition to the synthesized voice response currently provided in HomeVoiceTM. In addition, HomeVoiceTM can issue a voice output command in response to a triggered or scheduled event from the HomeVoiceTM supported controllers. The new release is in its final beta testing and will be available to registered users of HomeVoice via our web page, www.appliedfuture.com, before the end of September."

HomeVoiceTM is a unique Windows ’95 base software product that provides the user with the capability to control off-the-shelf home automation equipment by using continuous speech voice commanding. You can control lights, TVs, VCRs, home theater, heating and air conditioning, security systems and much more by simply speaking voice commands in your normal tone of voice. After issuing your voice command, the HomeVoiceTM software has a user set option to provide a voice response feedback using a synthesized phrase that you create or HomeVoice™ can play a .wav sound file in the new release. Imagine simply telling your house to turn on the dining room light and after issuing the command, hear HomeVoiceTM play a Star Trek .wav file of Captain Picard saying "Make it so!".

The suggested retail price of the HomeVoiceTM is $299.00.

HomeVoiceTM is compatible with most of the Home Automation controllers available including AFT’s HomeISATM HomeVision, Home Base, JDS, Proxi and CM11A. Applied Future Technologies, Inc. also offers HomeVoiceTM bundled in the HomeISATM Kit. This kit includes a HomeISATM controller card (a PC ISA based controller capable of X-10 and IR), HomeVoiceTM, a Crown pressure zone microphone for open air commanding, a powerline interface module and cable, an X-10 compatible lamp module, an Infrared emitter, an Infrared receiver, and a temperature sensor. The suggested retail price of the HomeISATM Kit is $449.00.

AFT has aggressive plans for future enhancements to HomeVoiceTM which include user interface improvements, scheduling capability, telephone interface, Caller ID, Email capability, support for additional controllers, and establishing levels of security.

Applied Future Technologies, Inc. is an engineering company dedicated to bringing affordable, innovative products and integrated technology solutions to the Home Automation industry and the Assistive Technology domain for the disabled.
