For my review of Slim Device’s Network Audio Player I wanted to extend my network by using my existing AC wiring so I could have the Slimp3 set up in a room not currently connected by CAT5. To do this I used two Maverick Powerline 4-Port Bridge. The first hub was setup in my computer room where I connect my two computers as well as the broadband cable modem. The second hub was then plugged into the wall AC in my entertainment room where my Network Audio Player was setup.

Hook up of the two hubs was as simple as plugging them into an available wall socket and connecting all the network cables to the hubs. After that was done the two hubs automatically found each other and transferring data through my AC wiring was up and running.

Data transfer rates are consistent and fast and overall the units work flawlessly. An included CD lets you set security keys up so neighbors sharing the same AC wiring can’t access the network.
