Home Systems Experts Release Structured Wiring Training Videos

Tucson, AZ., April 8, 1999 - The Training Dept. has just announced a new video training course in the Home Technology Series titled "Residential Infrastructure Wiring." It provides dealers and installers the best in cabling and residential network training.

The video set features industry experts Helen Heneveld and Michael Cogbill as well as Grayson Evans and was filmed in a "This Old House" style in four different cities using six actual infrastructure wiring projects. Through demonstrations, graphics, animations, and real-world examples it contains instruction in all aspects of the knowledge and skill necessary to understand wire and cable, connectors, network technology, installation planning, proper installation techniques, and testing practices.

"This video course was designed to fill a critical need for installers to be qualified for planning and installing present and future home networks. The course allows low cost, self paced instruction when and where it is needed," says company owner Grayson Evans. The $195 three tape set covers: Wiring Basics, Structured Cabling and Residential Networks, and Installation Demonstrations. The course comes with a workbook that contains all graphic and reference material and an examination so installation companies can test how well employees understand the material.

The project was sponsored by IBM, Lucent Technologies, UStec, Essex Group, The Siemon Company, CommScope, Channel Plus, and CEDIA.

The course can be ordered directly from the company web site ( www.trainingdept.com ) or by phone. A video brochure is also available in .pdf file format on the web site. In the works is a companion video designed to educate the consumer on structured wiring and the benefits.

The Training Dept. is the leading training company in residential technologies providing specialized training courses and videos for manufacturers, installers, and consumers. Contact the company at www.trainingdept.com   or 520.749.1770 for complete details on this and other related materials.

JPEG graphic files of the course package and scenes from the video can be downloaded at www.trainingdept.com/press/photos .
