ShareWave And Kyushu Matsushita Partner To
Create Leading Edge Home Networking Products

ShareWave Digital Wireless technology to be incorporated into future Panasonic consumer products.

FUKUOKA, JAPAN and EL DORADO HILLS, CA (May 17, 1999)-ShareWave, Inc., an ingredient supplier of multimedia-capable wireless home networking technology, today announced an agreement with Kyushu Matsushita Electric, Co. (KME) to create high-speed, low-cost home networking products for the consumer market. KME, one of the world's leading producers of electronic and electric products for consumers, has teamed up with ShareWave in order to bring innovative home networking products to market later this year. Under this agreement, both companies will contribute technology and collaborate on product design for home networking devices that will be marketed by KME. These products will initially operate at 11 Mbps, making them the fastest home networking solutions available. Higher speeds beyond 11 Mbps will be supported in the future. Specific details on these products will be announced later this year.

"The opportunity to connect consumer devices in the home is a market with enormous potential," said Akitoshi Aritaka, Director of Kyushu Matsushita Electric's Telecom Research Laboratory. "By partnering with ShareWave and incorporating their technology, we will be able to deliver high performance networking solutions to consumers at affordable price points."

ShareWave's technology focus is on high bandwidth, multimedia-capable wireless networking technology that supports digital, interactive multimedia content delivery to devices throughout the home. ShareWave has developed a portfolio of technologies called ShareWave(tm) Digital Wireless that delivers these capabilities. ShareWave's strategy is to sell ShareWave Digital Wireless technology to consumer product manufacturers who will embed this technology within their computer and consumer electronics devices.

"We are very excited to be working with such a worldwide leader in the consumer electronics arena," said Jim Schraith, ShareWave President and CEO. "By incorporating ShareWave's technology, KME can deliver networked devices that allow consumers to access the digital content and capabilities they want, when and where they want it."
