NEW TOP-OF-THE-LINE JENSEN® REMOTE PROVIDES
BOTH THROUGH-WALL AND IN-ROOM OPERATION

LAKE MARY, FL - Recoton® has endowed a new and highly-innovative universal remote control with its well-known Jensen® brand. The new Jensen SC-595 combines radio frequency technology (RF) with infrared (IR) capability to permit operation of up to 10 electronic devices from locations as far as 100 feet away. It operates even through walls, ceilings and floors.

Conventional IR capability allows the SC-595 to function as a line-of-sight controller when aimed directly at designated components while simultaneous RF transmission also permits operation from outside the room or rooms that contain equipment being controlled.

This versatility permits users to change a radio station or TV channel, raise or lower program volume, skip or repeat tracks on a CD, or switch source components from anywhere in a home.

The SC-595’s innovative operating system utilizes a radio frequency generator that sends 418 MHz signals to a transponder positioned to face a designated component or component system. Upon receiving the RF signals, this small, unobtrusive unit converts them to equivalent IR codes, which all remote-control-compatible electronics recognize.

A single SC-595 allows users to operate up to 10 devices, including a TV, VCR, cable box, satellite receiver, stereo/video receiver, Compact Disc player, DVD player, WebTV and two auxiliary devices in any of those categories.

This advanced Jensen remote is home-theater-ready. Not only does it provide control capability for Dolby ProLogic® home theater sound, but it groups volume control keys for the multi-speaker surround system in a central position, using an arrangement that makes operation intuitive.

With the remote in its satellite mode, the keys in the home theater cluster function as satellite system controls, allowing users to execute DSS operations quickly and easily.

Jensen designers have engineered a wealth of other convenience features into the SC-595, including Multiple Device Power Control, which permits switching up to five devices on or off at once.

Menu Control makes on-screen TV, VCR and DVD programming possible while Volume Priority allows users to assign system volume control to devices other than a TV. An SC-595 owner might, for example, allocate that function to an A/V receiver or a cable box.

The remote’s Action Mode permits assigning functions other than those originally specified to a variety of keys, in effect allowing individuals to customize the SC-595 for their particular entertainment system configurations.

PIP Control for performing picture-in-picture functions is another important feature, and Auto Codescan permits the remote to be set up without manual code entry. Memory Lock retains programmed codes for up to 25 minutes, allowing plenty of time for battery replacement.

The SC-595 also offers a Sleep Timer, which will turn a TV off up to 99 minutes after programming.

This new Jensen remote is equipped with an extensive library of codes, including those for 14 DVD brands and three WebTV brands. A Code Readback system employs blinking LED indicators to inform users of code numbers once they’re programmed. The SC-595’s LED indicators also blink to confirm that commands are being carried out.

With its subtly-contoured case, index finger grooves and logical key groupings, the Jensen SC-595 is easy to hold, aim and operate. Like its sister models, it’s backed by extensive customer support that includes a 30-day money-back guarantee and 1-year limited warranty as well as a toll-free telephone number and a website available to all in need of information.

Manufacturer's suggested retail is $49.95.
