PLM-24 <-> RS-485 Gateway Will get you twisted...

The PLM-24 <-> RS-485 Gateway Kit will be available in limited quantities in June. The latest version (0.84) of the S.N.A.P DLL is available for download on our web-site.

Version 1.00 of this *FREE* DLL is scheduled for autumn release.

Nearly fifty companies has to date been assigned S.N.A.P Vendor ID's. This allows them to implement S.N.A.P network protocol in any commercial application with no license costs.

Anyone can apply for a unique S.N.A.P Vendor ID# at no cost by filling in the form on our web-site.

The PLM-24 <-> RS-485 Gateway let you branch your PLM-24 network to twisted pair cables (RS-485) and this way keep the node cost down to a minimum! You are able to connect up to 31 additional nodes on the twisted pair cable and they will all be part of the PLM-24 network. The average cost of a simple RS-485 node is very small so you can expand your PLM-24 network even on a budget!

Up to 31 nodes (253 nodes with special drivers)

All data sent on the power line by other PLM-24 Power Line Modems will be routed to the RS-485 net and vice versa. Since the PLM-24 Power Line Modems is limited to max 2400 bps you can't send data at any faster speed if you want it to be routed to the power line. However if you wan't to send data between the RS-485 nodes you can use higher speeds.

The PLM-24 <-> RS-485 Gateway is provided with jumper selectable termination and bias resistors to suit different applications and the on board power supply providing power to the PLM-24 <-> RS-485 Gateway are able to supply power to a few low-power RS-485 nodes. If your RS-485 nodes demands more power an external power source can be selected with a jumper.

Outputs for status LED's indicating traffic on both the power line and RS-485 network, this is useful during setup and fault finding. The PCB is designed to fit in a standard plastic case available from several different manufacturers with or without AC plugs according to the standards of different countries.
