Birds of a Feather Discussion, N+I Special Event: Meeting of the Minds -- Home Networking "Multilayer Home Networks -- No New Wires"

Join Moderator Bob Dillon of Enikia and participants from all the leading players in the home networking market: power line, wireless, phone line, telecos, analysts, computer and consumer electronic manufacturers for an unprecedented meeting of the minds to discuss all the issues facing the hottest trend in the technology and electronics industry: home networking. You’ll hear all the latest news and opinions from the actual players that are bringing this technology to reality. This is the “must-attend” event for home networking!

When: Wednesday, May 12, 1999 6:00pm-8:00pm Where: Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center, Pavilion 6

Power line, phone line and wireless are the three viable "no new wires" home networking technologies. However, the myriad applications that home networking enables dictates requirements that no one technology can satisfy. For this reason, the home network will be a combination of all of these technologies. This BOF will bring together representatives from every stage of the value chain in delivering home networking and its applications to discuss the future of home networking, including: home networking options, multi-layer networks, network bridging/collaborative solutions, quality of service and manageability issues, systems level considerations, and the future of home networks. Moderator: Bob Dillon, Enikia.
