FIRST ADVENT 900 MHz WIRELESS PRODUCT SERIES
INCLUDES TWO STEREO HEADPHONE MODELS

LAKE MARY, FL - The first 900 MHz wireless product line to wear the renowned Adventâ name includes two stereo headphones. The wireless radio frequency (RF) technology they employ allows users unlimited freedom to move about while listening to music or other audio program material from source components up to 300 feet away.

Advent’s parent, Recoton , has been the recognized industry leader in 900 MHz audio transmission ever since the federal government assigned a bandwidth segment in the 900 MHz range to in-home transmission. The technology offers an important advantage over infra-red (IR) transmission, which is employed by more conventional wireless headphones, in that it does not impose line-of-sight limitations.

A small stereo transmitter, which operates in an FCC-allocated segment of the 900 MHz ISM (industrial, scientific & medical) band, is included with each Advent wireless headphone. This connects quickly and easily to source components with audio outputs or a headphone jack, products that include FM/AM receivers, CD players, tape decks, TV’s and others, and it sends their audio signals on to receiving circuitry built into the headphone itself.

Designed for compatibility with all 900 MHz wireless products in Advent’s current and future lines, the transmitter can relay stereo signals to an unlimited number of headphones simultaneously.

Thanks, in part, to the space age materials titanium and neodymium, these new Advent headphones provide the sonic excellence serious music listeners demand. Expertly-designed headbands and earcups assure comfort, even during periods of extended listening.

Advent Headphones

Advent’s flagship wireless headphone, model AW 770, employs large, 40-millimeter titanium-impregnated driver elements that are both light enough to provide quick transient response and strong enough to prevent the distortion to which less rigid materials are prone. These are coupled to powerful neodymium iron boron magnets that provide impressive bass response along with clear midrange tones and bright, natural treble.

Long-term comfort is always a key feature in a headphone, and the AW 770, with its oversized earcups and padded, self-adjusting headband, is genuinely luxurious to wear.

The AW 770 is supplied with AAA alkaline batteries that deliver up to eight hours of listening. A charger is built into the transmitter for use with optional rechargeable AAA nickel cadmium batteries.

Advent’s AW 770 carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $149.95.

A sibling 900 MHz wireless headphone from Advent, the AW 720, features 32-millimeter titanium-impregnated driver elements and neodymium iron boron magnets as well as cushioned earcups and a self-adjusting headband. Two rechargeable nickel-cadmium AAA cells are supplied, and a charger for them is built into the transmitter.

The AW 720 is designed to sell for $119.95 MSRP.

ADVENT® ENTERS 900 MHz WIRELESS MARKET
WITH TWO STEREO SPEAKER MODELS

LAKE MARY, FL - Advent® has moved into new territory with a 900 MHz wireless product line that includes two distinctive stereo speaker systems.

The 900MHz radio frequency transmission technology pioneered by Advent’s parent, Recotonâ , makes it easy to hear music, news and other audio programming anywhere in a home, out on the patio or at poolside. Since Radio Frequency (RF) signals pass through walls, ceilings and floors, even those made of concrete, listeners have unprecedented freedom to move about, up to 300 feet away from the program source component, without being fettered by connecting cable.

As well as providing this substantial convenience, Advent 900 MHz wireless speakers save consumers money by making sound more portable. Those who want to listen in a variety of places can do so with existing source components and, if they choose, by moving a single pair of Advent wireless speakers from place to place.

Along with each pair of speakers in Advent’s 900 MHz wireless technology series, purchasers receive a small stereo transmitter that operates in an FCC-allocated portion of the broadcast spectrum. This unit attaches easily and quickly to any program source that has audio outputs or a headphone jack, including FM/AM receivers, CD players, tape decks, TV’s and other components, and it relays their audio signals to companion speakers placed up to 300 feet away.

The transmitter is designed for compatibility with all 900 MHz wireless products in Advent’s current and future lines and is capable of sending stereo signals to two or more of them simultaneously.

Advent’s premier wireless speaker model, designated AW 870, is a full-frequency, two-way, acoustic suspension system that includes a built-in 15-watt (RMS) amplifier. Its 4-inch Tuff-Koteä woofer produces clean, powerful bass while a 1-inch polycarbonate tweeter results in sizzling highs.

Advent Wireless Speakers

The AW 870 has a high performance crossover with a 12-dB/octave slope. Its recessed tweeter is surrounded by an energy-control baffle for the lifelike imaging that precise high frequency localization delivers.

Front panel controls include a power/volume knob, a tuning control and a switch that sets the speaker up to receive left-channel, right-channel or monaural information from its companion transmitter. The speaker’s sculptural enclosure pleases the ear as well as the eye in that its non-parallel walls eliminate standing waves and their detrimental effect on sound quality.

The Advent AW 870 can be powered by household current though a supplied AC adapter, with eight C cells per speaker (not supplied) or rechargeable batteries (when used with an external charger, not supplied). Battery operation insures easy portability and allows users to listen in locations where there are no power outlets.

Advent is also offering a second, even more affordable speaker model that provides listeners with the advantages of 900 MHz wireless technology. The two-way, acoustic suspension AW 820 includes most of the features of its more expensive sibling but combines a 4-inch woofer with a 1-inch tweeter and utilizes an on-board 10 watt (RMS) amplifier.

Advent’s AW 870 carries a $299.95 per-pair manufacturer’s suggested retail price while the AW 820 retails for a suggested $249.95. Optional AWB 1 swivel mounting brackets are available for both models at a suggested $24.95 a pair.
