AUDIO DESIGN ASSOCIATES INTRODUCES THE MILLENNIUM 2000 MULTI-ROOM AUDIO/VIDEO SYSTEM

Re-designed System Becomes The Most Advanced Multi-room Mainframe in its Class

WHITE PLAINS, NY (January 7, 1999) - Audio Design Associates, Inc. (ADA) announced the release of its newly redesigned Millennium System, the Millennium 2000 (price to be announced). The new Millenium 2000 offers more component control and a more sophisticated keypad. Most important, it can be operated on standard Cat. 5 control cable, making it possible to include a Millennium 2000 in homes that have been prewired for a less sophisticated system.

The sophisticated innovations incorporated in the highly acclaimed Millennium design make the system applicable for more installations. The Millennium, which was introduced in 1995 just as the custom installation industry began to explode, offers the ability to listen to one of eight possible components, in any of six possible zones. Using ADA’s multi-source architecture, these eight components can be listened to independently in different rooms at the same time. And since each of the Millennium’s six zones can power up to four pairs of speakers, one can run several rooms off of a single zone. Additionally, several Milleniums can be chained together to provide up to 30 zones of audio.

The secret to the Millennium’s success lies its sound quality. While other multi-room systems focus only on features, the Millennium also pays close attention to the sound quality and sonic performance of its internal amplifiers.

The Millennium is controlled from keypads located throughout the home, office, yacht, or business. While the original Millennium controls could select a component, raise and lower volume, turn off a room or the entire home, and also change stations, discs, tracks, etc., they were limited when it came to controlling DDS receivers or CD changers. The Millennium 2000 offers a more advanced keypad that includes in addition to the current keypad options, direct numeric entry, additional transport functions, and a party mode button.

The Millennium 2000 integrates perfectly with any CD library system, providing direct selection of disc, track, or play mode. For DSS users, channels can be selected with just a few taps. And when using ADA’s new Trinity Triple Tuner, users can select radio presets or stations numerically.

The Party Mode button enables the user to turn on several rooms at one time, from any room, anywhere with just one button press. The Millennium 2000 now offers this feature with different Party Mode options selectable on the main unit.

In addition to the MC-2000 Keypad, the Millennium 2000 can also be controlled from ADA’s new TS-2000 Touch Screen. The TS-2000 is modeled after ADA’s new TS-3000 Touch Screen and fits into a standard three-gang electrical box. The TS-2000 features a modular Cat. 5 connector while the TS-3000 features ADA’s standard ADA Bus data port. The TS-2000 can be designed to include just the buttons that are required and as such, is a more flexible control. It also provides for the ability to display real-time data feedback from other products or systems such as ADA’s Trinity Tuner or a computerized CD library management systems such as Escient’s Tunebase Pro. Thus, TS-2000 touch screens can display radio stations or CD album and song names.

The Millennium 2000 is designed to have its controls wired with the standard Cat. 5 control cable. This cable is being widely used in the prewire of new homes. While the Millennium system typically required a special cable, the Millennium 2000 can be used in homes that were not specifically wired for ADA. In fact, almost any existing wiring scheme can be used to operate an ADA system. This makes it possible to provide an ADA system even if ADA were not part of the original design.

While the Millennium 2000 features more advanced control options than the standard Millennium system, it is, like the Millennium, also capable of being controlled by other systems such as AMX, Crestron, or Phast.

Headquartered in White Plains, New York, ADA has been the undisputed leader in the fields of high-end home theater and multi-room technology since 1977.
