PELIMINARY AGENDA:
Connections 98: In-Home Networks and Gateways
WORKSHOP A) Technical Requirements for Networks in the Home and their Gateways
9:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Grayson Evans, President of The Training Dept., is involved in all technical areas of in-home networks, including their protocols. His workshop provides detailed technical information on what is needed for networks to work reliably, and why. Parks Associates will present market information on consumer desires for applications that require networks and an overview of the market environment. For a full agenda contact Parks Associates or CABA. WORKSHOP B) Convergence and Value-Added Services
11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
This workshop focuses on external network developments and the value-added services for which they are being designed. Parks Associates' workshop will address the market causes for the proliferation of efforts to increase network capabilities to the home and in the home. What applications do consumers say they want? And, based on current buying patterns, which complanies or company types are likely to be successful in which applications areas? Join us for this crash course in value-added services and the environment that is breeding the drivers and the consumer desires. Presentations will include information from Parks Associates' newly released national consumer study, Electronic Living @ Home II. For a full agenda contact Parks Associates or CABA.
