Smart Home Interview - ECS (Event Control System)

Mark Gilmore | Omnipotence

We have been offering/enhancing our ECS (Event Control System) home automation software since 1990.

As every user's needs are different, it is fully customizable. User's can easily create their own GUIs and schedules/scripts which will "make anything happen when anything happens".

We perform the initial setup for free (so our customers can start using it immediately, and have working examples to learn from). ECS may be accessed via any web browser/device. It is available for Windows and Linux. Cost is based on the number of inputs/outputs to be monitored/controlled (<= 10 is free). ECS is %100 private/secure and does not use a central server. There are no recurring costs, and updates are free.

In a short paragraph or 2 please describe how your products fit into a Smart Home scenario and how they are set up to work together to perform automated tasks.

The user first denotes the devices/sensors/etc to be monitored/controlled. Then they define automated tasks (If/Then/Else) via simple schedules (termed "Events") or English-like scripts.
Events are sufficient for the great majority of tasks, while scripts are for more complicated logic.
