Which technologies do your products use to communicate with each other and how does it work?
Crestron products are Integrated by Design™ to deliver complete technology solutions. We integrate all systems and devices in homes onto a single open platform so they can communicate and work together seamlessly. Our equipment is now primarily a network device or a wireless device. We offer the ability to monitor, manage and control ALL technology from one platform, from anywhere, and at anytime.
Ultra-reliable infiNET EX wireless technology provides steadfast 2-way RF communications throughout a residential or commercial structure without the need for physical control wiring. Employing a 2.4 GHz mesh network topology, each infiNET EX device functions as an expander, passing command signals through to every other infiNET EX device within range (approximately 150 feet or 46 meters indoors), ensuring that every command reaches its intended destination without disruption.
Select Crestron wireless products communicate with a Crestron control system via an infiNET EX Wireless. Up to 100 infiNET EX devices, including Cameo® Wireless Keypads and In-Wall Dimmers and Switches, may coexist on a single wireless network, and every device that is added to the network effectively increases the range and stability of the entire network by providing multiple redundant signal paths. Built-in Dynamic Frequency Allocation continuously monitors RF conditions, automatically selecting the clearest channel to prevent interference from neighboring networks, cordless phones, and microwaves.
Do your products communicate with products from other manufacturers using a standard protocol?
Yes, we work with several third party manufacturers, including Yale door locks, Baldwin door locks, Sub Zero & Wolf, Panasonic, etc.
Crestron control intelligence is embedded into popular AV equipment such as projectors, flat panel TVs, audio/video receivers, and a variety of other wired and wireless devices. In a short paragraph or 2 please describe how your products fit into a Smart Home scenario and how they are set up to work together to perform automated tasks.
When it comes to your home and your life, you don’t settle for anything but the very best.
You want everything to be complete, easy, and worry-free. That’s what you get with Crestron.
The “movie” button can create a cinematic experience in your living room or media room: the TV turns on, lights dim, the shades lower, and the movie starts playing. The “good night” can turn off the lights, lower the shades, arm the security system, and lock the doors. This is all accomplished via a home automation system. You can also control your home settings from any location using your smartphone or tablet.
